- DUN Icon
- Posted by anon on February 27th, 2008
Hello. Is there a program/utitlity that displays an icon in the system tray
when connected to the 'net (through dialup) that's similar to the dial-up
networking icon (the one that shows 2 computers hooked up ) that Windows
uses? I have Earthlink as a provider and I use their custom software to
connect to the 'net and it replaced the DUN icon with their own which
unfortunately got rid of the standard DUN icon in the system tray. I like
seeing the DUN icon because it tells me that the modem is receiving/sending
info (I just like seeing the flashing lights
. I d/l'd DunMonitor but it
visually takes too much space. I would prefer keeping Earthlink's custom
software because it comes with an 'accelerator' that actually helps when
viewing Web pages. Any suggestions?
TIA!
Using WinXP

Zonealarm and Winbar look promising. There may be others.
