- error 676 line busy when using *70
- Posted by Ronald Smyth on September 10th, 2004
I am able to dial in using only local number. However I have the CallWave
program and need to add *70. When I try the number using *70 I get 676 line
busy. The number works fine when I leave off *70. I am using Windows XP home
edition.

You need to place a comma after *70 in order to separate the disable
Call-Waiting command from the number. example *70,456-7890 The
comma adds a 2 second delay in order for the second dial-tone to become
stable, before dialing the number. Good luck.

Ok, I went and tried that. It did not work. But I tried to dial the number
just using my phone and it gave me a this call cannot be completed. I
believe I have several features that have been disabled by Verizon so I will
have to contact them.

You must have Call-Waiting feature on your line, in order for *70 to
work. That said, Call-Wave should work normally, without Call-Waiting,
if you have had the Telco add Call-Forward-Busy to Call-Wave's 800
number. Sounds like they may have your features messed up. Good luck.
