Extra Phone and Zoom Modem
Posted by orland on June 22nd, 2004

Lately, IE5.5 takes 3-4 minutes to load first page when I connect. Monitor
shows very few bytes sent or received. It's as if I'm on the on-ramp but
can't get on highway due to traffic - so I sit for 3-4 minutes, then
everything is fine. I 'solved' the problem by unhooking a phone/answering
machine combo that was plugged into Zoom PCI modem (2925L) and it loading
like a jet.

Ooops! Now it's gone back to the same old behavior, even with the
phone/answering machine no longer connected to Zoom.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks.

Is the phone/answering machine still connected to the line somewhere
else? If so, disconnect it, and see if that helps. Good luck.
