Generically Speaking: Soft/Win Modems vs Controller Modems
Posted by pgtr on April 6th, 2004

In starting to look for yet another V.92 I've noticed fewer software
based 'Win' modems than in the past. True?

I have an older/slower (550mhz) PC strugging to keep up as it is w/
Win2K and all the windows I typically have open at once - I don't
think a win modem would ever be right for me.

But where are we in the great debate between these two modems these
days?

If you have an ISA slot, then try this Conexant ACF3 controller based
