Hardware modem recommendation needed...
Posted by Terrance Drith on August 5th, 2003

Hello group,
What would some of you recommend as far as a 3Com/USR v.90/92 hardware
modem for someone playing Ultima Online? I have read that certain ISA
models are faster than their PCI counterparts, some models are labeled
as "hardware" but are in fact winmodems, et cetera... Quite
confusing, really. I'd like to stay with 3Com/USR, and basically want
speed.
My system is a plain, vanilla 400mhz PII running WinME, and I have
both PCI and EISA slots available.
Many thanks in advance!

The two listed below are full hardware V.92 modems, PCI and External.

This one is a full hardware V.90 ISA modem. IMHO, the best modem I have
ever used on dialup. Good luck.
