Hearing modem through speakers.
Posted by muzician21@yahoo.com on February 16th, 2008

I have a Compaq Deskpro EN PIV running XP Home and an HSP56
Micromodem. When connecting to the internet, I can hear the dialtone
and modem noise. I've never had this happen before.

Any suggestions on how to disconnect the modem sounds from the
speakers?

Thanks

Control panel...phone/modems options...click modem tab...highlight your

Or disconnect the speaker wire from the modem.

Tried that already, doesn't do it. To clarify, I mean the sound is
coming out of the speakers I have hooked into the line out of the
Soundblaster Audigy, not the little speaker inside the case.
