- Help - Good Sounding MODEM Fried
- Posted by Al on September 21st, 2004
Any help with this would be appreciated.
I have several PCI MODEMs, but only one of them had exceptional voice
quality for telephone answering. It allowed a sample rate up to 11 KHz
and seemed to have some extra chips on the board for the audio. The
chipset was PCTEL, but I don't know if that had anything to do with
the audio quality. My other MODEMs are Conexant and work fine for
data, but they just don't sound as good. There are no specs that I
have found on audio quality.
Does anyone have some insight into what might be available that has
the good digital audio quality of my fried MODEM?
TIA!
