Help need a driver for a Rockwell HSF modem
Posted by Hank on December 19th, 2005

Can anyone help me locate a driver for a Rockwell HSF modem
that does not require annual fees extra. Have even tried to join the
"free" driver sites but for some reason my PC will not take some of
their cookies. A friend has an older PC running Windows 2000 NT
service pack 4. The modem seems to have gone off line. He has no
documentation or software for the inherited PC. In the hardware list
there is a yellow ! on the PCI Simple Communications Controller. Not
knowing who made the modem I tried Conexant generic driver since chip
on modem has following:
Conexant
RS56-PCI
R6793-12

I tried to install and it seemed to work until a reboot then I
noticed driver did not have a digital signature so was working
irratically. Tried removing the modem from my DELL windowsXP which
per hardware list is a Intel 537EP V9x PCI modem driver version
2.15.36.2. Even went to Intel to download driver. Did not find the
exact match but did get one for Win2K and 537EP. No soap. Later when
I was looking through some folder found a reference to Rockwell HSF
modem so think Rockwell might be the manufacture but there does not
seem to be a web support at Rockwell that I can find. Google of "PCI
Simple Communications Control" yields thousands of hits but except for
a pay for use site nothing seems to cover it. Can anyone help?

email response not expected but to respond remove .uk at end
TIA
Hank
