Help with remote autoresponse
Posted by Alex GD on October 14th, 2004

I wonder if you could help me, as I am becoming crazy with one thing
that looks simple but I just don't know the way. I also did not find the
right information on the web.

This is what I have:

1) an internal pc modem connected to a standard phone line
2) On the other side of the line, there is another modem (external one with
232 port). I need to communicate both by means of a dialer (will not be a
phone conversation)

My problem: I need to set the autoresponse on the remote modem from the
local one. I have seen that can be made by means of the +++ signs, followed
by the standard ATS0=x command, but won't work for me
I mean, not to set the autoresponse via local port (which in fact is
very easy), but to do it at the other side via commands

Please help!

PD: Remote modem is US Robotics 56K
