card.... when i formatted my system my modem drivers got
deleted........ I tried to find those in my motherboard CD... no
use.... now i wanted to download the drivers from the web, but i don't
know what is the model no..... i don't even know who is the
manufacturer and whats the make, as there is nothing printed on the

Well, what OS are you working from? A current Windows OS? If it's an add-on
card, you should be able to remove it and look at the card for the model
number, or possibly see some information about it in the "System" control
panel. And if you have a separate network connection, you might be able to
use it to do a Microsoft Update and get drivers automatically, if they're
properly registered in Microsoft's driver updates.

can identify your modem.
It has helped me identify other circuit cards in the past, prior to starting
driver hunts.
You can download it at http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

Not even a model number? Then it's probably a $10 winmodem: perhaps a friend
has a good one in their parts bin, along with the drivers?

the FCC ID search facility to trace the manufacturer
http://www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid/ . I've yet to find a modem which doesn't even
have a part no or some clue to its origins on it somewhere. Additionally, if
you can get the PCI ID from within windows (should be in the control panel
diagnostics tab) then you can search using this for the manufacturer through
websites such as this one http://pciids.sourceforge.net/ (or just Google the
PCI ID)
