HSP56 Micromodem ...... a royal pain in the a$$
Posted by wolf on November 27th, 2004

well guys,
I am really in deep sh1t rite now 'cus i have to figure out a way
past this one. I was wondering if any one of you "KIND" Geniuses would
take pity on this lost soul. Heres the deal ..... I had an HSP56
micromodem which i borrowed from a friend. and installed it into my
dads 753 MHz p3 machine. turns out that the modem was as f*cked up as
my friend was and it didn't work. so i pooled in my money and bought a
Datafax modem. now, for whatever reason, the computer freezes as soon
as it boots. is it because of my previous modem ?? or is there
somethin wrong with my new one ?? How do i uninstall my HSP modem
drives when the device manager doesn't display it ? the HSP modem icon
exists on my control paned though ! HELP HELP oh yeah ... its running
a windows 2K OS ! HELP

I would appreciate a quick response. Thank you.

Delete any reference to it in the control panel as well as any
reference to other modems.
Power down and remove all modems.
Reboot without any modems installed.
Power down and install the modem you want.
