I saw this posted on another forum and thought it was a pretty hot
deal.
I'm looking for a good deal on high-speed internet. My son found a
deal on-line at http://specials.comcastoffers.com with $19.95 for the
first six months, $50 cast back, and a free modem.

That's a good deal. 6 mos at $20 is a decent offer - the rest is gravy.

Just make sure they don't make you pay for the modem by leasing it for
$3 a month ;-)

Verizon is cheaper, they advertise 30$ a month

verizon is better
after the 1st 6 months comcast is going to go up to 45$, at least thats what
they charge around here...
unless your doing alot of gaming, comcast might be worth the extra money.
but my friends have comcast and say it is sloooow

I had DSL at my apartment. Once I moved into my home I had to get
cable because I am too far from the main telco center. I couldn't
have made a better choice (albeit forced). The speed is more than
twice as fast as DSL ever was. I am also paying less from the
promotion and will be paying slightly more when the promotion ends
($56.00 for comcast non-tv-subscriber vs. $49.99 for earthlink). Well
worth it in my opinion.

Are you aware that you can get the exact same cable modem service from
Earthlink (through Comcast) for less money, and that it includes free
dial-up hours? -Dave

No, but I will look into it thanks. How much is it through Earthlink?

Not sure . . . I'm still in the promotional period at $30/month. I remember
thinking that the regular price was cheaper than Comcast though. But that's
not too impressive when Comcast is regularly about sixty bucks per month in
this area. The earthlink web site should have all the information on how
much it will cost. -Dave
