Hi!

I've got two modems, one USR V34+, one Elsa 33.6. Both are attached to
a Linux box running mgetty. The software is set up to distinguish
between incoming fax and data calls.

With the Elsa modem, it works perfectly. With the USR, it sometimes
works, sometimes fails for incoming faxes.

When listening to the answer tones of both modems, it seems that the
very first sequence is much longer with the Elsa than with the USR. So
maybe this problem is simply a matter of setup? Does someone know how
to influence the length and behavior of the single steps of the USR
answer sequence?
