looking for a second method to enable command echoing
Posted by ripleysfrisbee on April 25th, 2004

I'm doing an assignment on modems and it requires 2 methods for
enabling modem command echoing. I know the first method is to use the
command ATE1, but I don't know what the second method is. They also
ask what will occur if you enable modem command echoing through both
methods? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

the modem. Default is usually X4. I'm not sure if that is what you are
looking for, or if only echoing commands that are sent TO the modem, is
what you need. Good luck.

You can use ATQ1/Q0 to inhibit/enable the reporting of result codes to
the DTE, but this is not the same as enabling/disabling command
echoing.
