- modem's signals as a WAV

How can I save my modem's signals as a WAV file?
I bought this thing from Radio Shack:

However, it plugs into a handset, not an RJ11 connector.
Anyone know of a similar one with an RJ11 connector?

What you want is an inline tap (RS 43-228 or 43-2208, or find one anywhere
else for half the price). Google for combinations of "inline," "phone," and
"tap" for loads of information.
With the right kind of modem, you could also do it entirely in software.
