- Need call waiting help
- Posted by Wesley D. Jensen on April 20th, 2004
I now have call waiting with my telco.
I know I can disable call waiting by inserting *70, before the ISP tele #. I
have to do this each time I go online or I get disconnected. I want to have
the computer remember this so I don't have to.
I went through the control panel and got modem properties, clicked on
dialing properties, and checked the "disable call waiting box" also the *70,
drop down menu. That disabled call waiting while I stayed online but the
next time I went online the call waiting was not disabled. When I looked at
the disable call waiting box it was still checked. Would appreciate help on
this.

choose Properties. Place *70,####### in the Telephone Number window.
Uncheck "Use area code and dialing properties", then click [OK] to save
the new setting. It should then disable call-waiting each time you dial
out to your ISP. Good luck.
