- Newbie AT command issue
- Posted by HoosierDaddy on May 1st, 2006
I am attempting to set the # of rings on a 33.6 Multimodem model
MT2834ZDXb. Here is what I am doing:
I connect via the DB-25 RS232 port and interface the modem via ProComm
Plus.
I check the S0 register:
ATS0?
001
I attempt to set the S0 register:
ATS0=6
OK
I check the value:
ATS0?
006
I then disconnect/reconnect or power cycle to check if the changes
applied and get this again:
ATS0?
001
Am I missing a command to flash the EEPROM? It doesn't stay at the
desired amount of rings when rebooted?

Yep, any changes you make are temporary unless you write them to nonvolatile
memory (usually something like AT&W). Most newer modems have several
"slots," one of which is the default.
