Within the past few days (I think since the beginning of the month) I
get disconnected from the internet if my computer (mouse, keyboard) is
inactive for 20 minutes. It's happened the past couple nights when I've
stepped away from the computer while downloading some pictures from
relatives. I leave the computer for about 20-30 min and when I come
back, it's been diconnected from the internet.
Does anyone know why this would happen all of a sudden? No settings on
my computer have changed, it's been scanned for viruses and spyware and
is free of both. No odd programs or anything are running in the
background. The only out of the normal thing that has happened is that
one night last week, I got disconnected. When I redialed the access
numbers, they were all busy. I waited several minutes and tried again
but they were still busy. I ended up using the alternate set for the
rest of the night. But the disconnect problem happens no matter which
set I use.
Any ideas on the problem? I'm not sure if it's the modem, ISP,
hardware, etc.
