- Point to Point with Modems connected to telephone lines.

Hi,
I have a telephone line at home and don't have any ISP as such. Would it be
possible to dial up and get the files using FTP client? I mean MoDEM to
Modem between two windows machines without interference from the local ISP.
I don't want to use that PC at home for emails or internet.
Thanks...

Three suggestions:
A remote PC client/server that allows file transfer.
A BBS type server on the remote machine.
A serial Lap-Link like program that supports connection over dial-up,
and automation at the server end.
