Problems -- pc card modem & dial 9 system
Posted by danceman@gmail.com on October 1st, 2005

I have a TDK 56k V.90 pc card modem that works fine at home, but won't
work on a business phone system that dials 9 for an outside line. The
modem will connect and load about a page, then stop. Eventually it
won't even complete connecting with the ISP. It's not a configuration
problem. A different laptop and 56k pc card modem had no problems on
the business system, nor did a 33.6k pc card modem in the affected
laptop.
Are there any changes I could make in the modem properties, or AT
commands I could give to make this modem more compatible with the
business phone system? I tried resetting the port speed down to 38k and
it worked briefly on a primarily text page for a bit, but then reverted
to nfg form.

just won't work under a particular profile in WinXP. To test if
that's the case, create a new profile, log into it and try the modem
that way. Gary E
