Recommend me a 56k speakerphone modem
Posted by snoxu on August 29th, 2004

I'm looking for a modem that has

1. speakerphone capabilities and
2. WinXP compatability and drivers
3. decent software

I' mainly going to use it to make phone calls from my pc, so other
features are not as importante.

So, what would be some speakerphone modems you would recommend?

Creative Modem Blaster 5631s work well for me.

To add to my previous response, I have also used a Jaton Explorer V.90
external with excellent results. All systems are XP Home and include SB
Live sound.

Will the audio go through my headset, does it have and audio-out jack?
Or will the "speakerphone" work like a normal telephone's speakerphone?

Thank you for replying.

Are your reffering to this modem?

It has an audio-out for the soundcard's line-in and audio-in for the
microphone, correct?

All speakerphone modems have that?

Yes it has those connections and, optionally, if you have a sound blaster
soundcard the modem can be connected internally. Some other soundcards also
offer an internal T.A.D. connector.

No, not all.
