Hi,
Cd any body tell how can i test whether my uart is working correctly
in dce mode. Is there any suite available on net to test my uart.
Tell me how can i start (literature)controlling modem theu uart?

I think DCE mode needs to be done by a DCE device like
a modem. Null modems can trick the other side by putting
most of the signals where they need to be, but cheat w/ DCD
data carrier detect. This signal that may be difficult to mimic.
It is a modem to DTE signal to say, "I have carrier and thus
a connection to the remote modem. Go ahead and put up the
login banner". Like on a modem bank connected to a
server.

The best way to test a UART is to connect it to something with
known responses. For example, to a modem, a terminal, or
