USR/3Com voice modem - no voice function under XP
Posted by ed.matthews@gmail.com on April 29th, 2006

I recently installed Windows XP on my PC and now the voice
functionality of the modem will not work.

I had been using this modem as my telephone answer machine (CallSoft
software) under Windows 2000 with no issues at all.

Modem - USR 56K Voice INT V5.20.1

It's an OEM modem # 3CP2976

Does anyone have any idea what can be missing here or will it work at
all?

I'm pretty much at wits end here.

Any and all suggestions welcome.

TIA

Ed

keyboard and composed:

Is there a "Wave Device for Voice Modem" in DM? Does your modem's INF
file include voice commands and responses?

AFAICT, your modem is a "hard" type so its voice capability is
built-in and therefore independent of the OS.
