I have one of these modems, and occasionally it will ring the phone on
receipt of call-waiting tone. But it does this only sporadically, as
I learned today when I got a Mailgram from someone who has been trying
to phone me the last few days.

Maybe there is a firmware upgrade, but the modem is on a Linux-only machine
and they tend to require a Windows machine to install firmware upgrades,
don't they?

The manual I downloaded from their site was not clear what initialization
string to send the modem to tell it to ring the phone on call-waiting.
