For rural areas, I recommend connecting at 26400. Even at 33600, you
are attempting compression that may cause errors that require
retransmission of packets resulting in overall slower throughput.
26400 will connect quickly and should give you a very stable
connection.

To limit your initial connect speed and speed up your modem handshake,
try &N13 to connect at 26400. &N14 gives you 28800. &N15 gives you
31200. &N16 gives you 33600.
