- Displaying emoticons on MSN Messenger
- Posted by Intruderbill on March 13th, 2006
I have tried everything but I just can't fix the problem. I'm not able to
display my custom (or 3rd party) emoticons on MSN Messenger anymore. Example:
I pick up an emoticon and once I hit the "send" button, all what I see are
letters. Same thing happens when someone sends me emoticons. I just can't see
them.
Does anyone know the key to this mystery? Thanks.

Greetings,
Although I'm sure you've already checked this, have you verified that in the Tools menu, then
Options, Messages category, "Show emoticons" and "Show custom emoticons" are both checked?

Thanks Jonathan but I did check that option too. Doesn't help either.

Malerson, I have asked this question and thanks to people like Jonathan Kay
here, I could solve the problem. You just have to make sure the "display
custom emoticons" is checked. I thought it had nothing to do with displaying
emoticons but that was the only solution.
