Microsoft Word and other Microsoft Office applications like Excel and
Powerpoint aren't part of the Windows XP operating system. Microsoft
Works isn't either. Some system manufacturers include those applications
with the DEALER'S computer system offer, but they are seperate pakages
as far as Microsoft is concerned.

Many of the same functions are available free as part of Open Office

This may not be true, but I've heard a quote somewhere from Bill Gates
saying he'd rather people used pirated versions of his software, than
not use his software at all, since Microsoft can crack down on pirates,
but not better software!

Hey1 I mentioned that the Office apps were available as seperate
packages. That's more mention than Mosaic and Netscape Navigator got in
Windows 95!

Mosaic was mentioned in the IE about dialog until just recently
