- File transfer doesn't work btwn SP1 and SP2 computers

We are using Windows Messenger 5.1 with Exchange 2000. We have a mix of XP
SP1 and XP SP2 computers in our domain. The firewall is disabled on all
computers on the domain via Group Policy.
Scenario:
XP SP1 user tries to transfer a file over Windows Messenger to an XP SP2
user. It does not work. They receive an error to check if there's a
firewall blocking, etc.
SP2 _to_ SP1 works.
SP2 _to_ SP2 works.
SP1 _to_ SP1 works.
SP1 _to_ SP2 does not work.
Again, no firewalls are in place on these computers. Any ideas?
