How can I enforce a standard version of MSN IM in the corporate?
Posted by NKOTB on January 9th, 2006

Hi,

Would appreciate it if anyone could advise me on how I can enforce a
standard version of MSN IM in a corporate environment? I understand that MSN
IM user will be allowed to upgrade their client when there is a newer version
but we want to prevent that to happen. Btw, how can we check the verion of an
installed MSN IM using the registry (i.e. what is the registry key)?

Thank you very much.

Greetings,

There is no registry key, there is no GPOs for MSN Messenger. If you want to prevent
upgrades, you'll have to take away admin privileges.
