- how to contact unknown people ?
- Posted by a on February 28th, 2008
hallo
i have messenger v7.0 on windows 98
sometimes i'd like to speak with unknown people
(that is without knowing the email address)
mainly for solving technical pc problems
in example i've installed messenger two days ago
and i need to do some testing now
question:
is possible to chat with someone
without giving my email address
and without knowing his email address?
is there a place where I can put my nickname,
just to let know to everyone in the world i'm online
so if someone wants to speak to me, he can do it?
is there a place where I can put my name
and put a question in addiction
in example: jhonny - problem with Photoshop shadow effects
and wait for someone contacting me about the problem?
note:
i'have four valid contacts of friends of mine,
but we almost never meet each other because different time
and different general interest (it sounds odd but it is the true)
thanks

Greetings,
The old member directory and such has long since been gone for awhile (to meet people you
don't know).
However, if you wanted you could use the web control on your web page and people wouldn't
need to know your e-mail address to contact you:
http://settings.messenger.live.com/a...bsettings.aspx
But there's nothing like "setting a question and waiting for someone to answer it" like
you're requiring. Instead, I'd direct you to Live QnA (http://qna.live.com) or Yahoo Answers
(http://answers.yahoo.com) for those types of things.

No you can't in Messenger, but many people in these newsgroups now a LOT
about Windows...try talking to them about technical problems...
