Signing in to Messenger Service failed because the service is not
Posted by pipmicky on November 14th, 2005

When I try to sign into Messenger I get the following: Signing in to
Messenger Service failed because the service is not compatible with this
program. I have run Windows XP update and have installed everything that is
recommended. What can I do to get Messenger to work?

Greetings,

Older versions of Messenger are not able to login to the service. Grab the latest version of
MSN Messenger from here:
