10Mbs upgrade
Posted by EverettPet on July 4th, 2004

An old PC i'm using as a fileserver has a 10Mbs ISA network card in it. The
only PCI slot is taken by the hard disk controller (needed to use an 80Gb hard
drive).

Does/did anyone ever make 100Mbs ISA network cards?
Is there any other way of upgrading the network card? (no USB available
either!)

The only way I can think of to improve performance is to install a second 10Mbs
card - would this work and is it easy to set up?

Check this out, Intel makes a card and you can probably get it for $6.

Thanks, that what I'm looking for. I'm in the UK and it's interesting to see
that it's about $6 in the US but the only price on dealtime.co.uk £2,391.12!
(not a joke! - http://www.dealtime.co.uk/xPC-Intel_..._PCLA8560PAK20)
