- 56k dial up and wireless connection
- Posted by Tobi on April 21st, 2005
I am trying to decide what to buy and would appreciate any help
I want to share my modem dial-up connection (no, i don't want DSL or
cable ...) with a few laptops. i was thinking of buying an external
modem and a wireless router. i heard that some wireless routers accept
a connection from a 56k dial-up modem?
also, is there a modem that comes out with an RJ45 connection so that
one can just buy a regular router instead of the special ones that
accept the serial connection from the modem?
Thanks!

Well, I don't have a desktop and therefore don't want to wire a pc
directly and then just share. I was more thinking of an independent
modem and then a router.
