802.11g access points - distance?
Posted by babysnake on September 19th, 2004

hi

i need a 802.11g wireless access point for home but the networked laptop
will be a good 50m away from the point and through 2 or 3 fairly solid
walls

can anyone recommend any kit in particular or am i unlikely to have
problems with this?

thanks

neill

I am using a linksys Wireless G-speedbooster router and a linksys range
booster 3 rooms away with great results. The range booster acts like a
repeater and amplifies and rebroadcasts the signal. I have had good results
through 3-4 solid walls and outside on the outskirts of my property.

How far would You be able to go if You would not use the booster anymore?

Thanks in advance!
