Do hubs amplify signals. In other words could you use a hub and two 75 foot
cables to extend a signal to a computer that was located 150 feet from a
router?

Maybe, maybe not. You need to check the specs of your hub, some are spec's
as passive (and do NOT amplify), others are spec'd as active (and DO
amplify).
