- LaserJet 3100 for Network
- Posted by Ulrich Thoenes on January 6th, 2004
Hello there,
it's long time ago, that I used the Usenet. So today again: :-)
Since quite a while I am trying to find a way to connect my LaserJet 3100
to my local Network via a printserver. HP (any many others) do tell me
that this is not possible, because of the way the printer works (It's a
host based / GDI printer). But some people mentioned that there may be
way, because the LaserJet 3150 which is almost the same instrument does
work as a network printer.
So is there anybody out there who has an idea how to do this, or already
succeeded in networking the 3100.
Any help is very highly appriciated.
Regards, Ulli

Unfortunately, your concerns are right. This printer is just meant to
be a directly connected win printer.
Here is a link to a web page from linuxprinting.org. This site has an
extensive printer database and the following is for LJ3100.
