I got a new DI-624 router today and set it up as per instructions...
everything went fine.
Then I decided to activate encryption, just like they say to do. That
worked fine between my main computer to my laptop, but I lost the
connection to a second desktop that was hard-wired in.
Tried rebooting, ran the Win XP network setup wizard, tried turning
off encryption, and more things... can't get it to work properly.
Right now, to try to isolate the problem, I have only the main
computer connected to the router. Set up this way the web browser
works fine, but email and newsgroups don't.
If I connect the desktop directly to the cable modem, bypassing the
router, everything works.
How can I get email and newsgroups to work again with the router? (I
suppose that would be a first step on the way to getting the whole
network working again.)
I'm on Windows XP and use ZoneAlarm. Turning ZA off seems to make no
difference.
