- accessing data via unc path slower than via mapped drive?
- Posted by sam on March 14th, 2006
I was told that accessing data via a unc path (\\server\dir\mydata.big) is
slower than mapping the folder, and accessing it that way (map \\server\dir
to R:\ and then access R:\mydata.big).
Is there any truth in the above statement.
Thanks,
~S
