- Adding switch to existing router setting
- Posted by scottieyoon@yahoo.com on December 19th, 2005
I added a 8 port switch to an existing broadband router settings
because I ran out of ports on the router. With switch in the middle, I
add a new xp computer and attempt to obtain an ip. It failed. So I
found a workaround. I connect to router first, obtain an ip, unplug
from there and plug to switch. That keep the connection going. But I
don't understand why I have to do this. I'm sure there is a better way
of adding switch to a router. Please help. TIA.
