- Cannot change other computer's documents

Both computers can see each others without problems. My problem is that
they're both in read only mode, which is not very useful when file
transfering. Does somebody have a clue for this.

You should be able to transfer a read only file. If you want to write to
the file on a remote machine and you are using simple file sharing, you need
to change the share to allow level 5 access. See:

If you are using classic file sharing (requires XP Pro), you can simply
change the Share and/or NTFS permissions.
