- cannot connect to vpn server with windows firewall enabled
- Posted by crosswired on October 19th, 2005
I am having a strange problem I hope someone can help resolve. We have 2
different w2k servers at work configured as RAS servers. From my laptop
(which has xp pro sp2), I can vpn into server A with no problem. But to
successfully vpn into Server B, I have to disable the windows firewall on my
"wired" LAN connection. Both vpn connections on my laptop have the firewall
turned off. As far as I can tell, both vpn connections are configured
exactly the same. And both RAS servers are configured exactly the same. So
why do I have to turn the firewall off when connecting to RAS server and not
the other? Does anyone have an idea where to start?
Thanks.
