Cannot Share Internet
Posted by Sarah on December 27th, 2005

Hello: I have 2 pc's at home. Both can connect individually through a cable
modem and 1 pc will connect to the internet through the router but other one
will not. Both are running XP, what have I missed?

Thanks for your help

Run the Network Setup Wizard on the problem computer (Start | All
Programs | Accessories | Communications | Network Setup Wizard).

If the Wizard detects the router's shared Internet connection, tell it
to use that connection. If it doesn't, tell the Wizard that the
computer connects to the Internet through a residential gateway
(router).

If the computer has a firewall program (Norton, McAfee, ZoneAlarm,
PC-cillin), make sure that the firewall is properly configured to
allow Internet access.
