cannot view files on networked xp pros
Posted by gazza on September 26th, 2005

have a home network
destop computer - office - xp pro ; laptop - xp pro ; notebook - xp home

files are shared, firewalls off,
file permissions set for everyone to have full access
laptop can connect both ways to notebook and vice versa and view files etc
office can connect to both laptop and notebook and view files etc

when trying to connect from laptop or notebook to office
cannot view shared files or printers
can ping office - can see office under network neighbourhood
Have checked restrictanonymous in registry - set to zero
guest active enabled on all computers
netbios is enabled on all three

have redone network setup to try and fix with no luck
all machines have xp service pack 2 installed
all have dynamic ip addresses
dhcp is being used by wireless access point and then internet connection
routed to
broadband modem - all three computers can browse the internet - no problems

error message - donot have access privileges
not enough server storage is available to process command

please help

Thank you very much

You think this would better documented - another Nortons bug as we did have
it installed on the office computer at one stage. - only reared its head when
we installed a new wireless router.
