- can't access files from shared folders now that VPN is installed

I can no longer access files from shared folders on my PC (PC #1)now that I
have a VPN installed. I can see, and access files from my other PC (PC #2),
but not vice versa. I can see it as a workgroup computer but none of the
shared folders appear. I can't ping the IP either. Any help? Oh yeah, running
cisco system VPN client.

This is by default/by design, and is a "Good Thing" from a security
standpoint. Split tunneling is not enabled ...all your traffic is going out
through the VPN tunnel while it's enabled, and this protects the remote
network from nefarious activity on *your* network (malware/trojan/whatnot).
