- Posted by Bill Tatro on January 14th, 2008
scenario.
I have 2 laptops running XP Pro sp2...both are wirelesss.
I just got a IBM Lenovo Tower unit running XP Pro sp2, connected via
ethernet card.
All are connected to a Linksys router and all 3 can access the web and
printers etc.
I have file sharing set up on all 3 computers and the workgroup name is
"GOBBLERS" On the laptops I can see the other laptop and the Lenovo Tower,
but can't access the Lenovo tower. It give me the error "\\Lenovo is not
accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource....."
On the tower, I can view the workgroup, but the 2 laptops do not appear for
me even to try to connect to. I am sure that both laptops are ok, but there
appears to be some kind of setting on the Lenovo Tower that is blocking
access to and from...can you pelase help

correction to above.
When I view workgroups on the Lenovo tower I can see the 2 laptops, but when
I click on either I get the same error message as when I try to access the
tower from the laptops.

You may try to add the same username no both computers. Or this search
result may help.
Access issues"computername is not accessible. No permission to access the
