- connect to remote laptop on wireless wep

When a laptop running windows XP home is connected to a wired network
by way of a WAP connected to a networked hub, and when the laptop is
using encryption as in wep, how can the wired network connect to it?
The laptop can see and connect to other machines on the network but
they cannot see it.
