- Domain user account over VPN
- Posted by Hubert Hopkins on January 4th, 2006
I have a remote workstation which has users which logon to the domain with
their cached information, then connect to the main office domain via a client
vpn. I have a new user that needs to be added to that XP machine. They have a
domain account and I have added them as a user on that machine. I am unable
to login to the machine as them to the domain. How do I get the domain
profile to the local machine without bringing machine to main office to login
to account can be created.

Log on with another account, start the VPN connection, and use "Run as" to
run something (e.g. Command Prompt) as the new domain user. That should
leave behind cached credentials, enabling them to log on.
