I would like to setup a Portal for my home build on a windows 2003 server
that would allow a common place to access information. Is there a scaled down
version of sharepoint or can this be done with office 2003 and frontpage? has
anyone done this. what i am looking to do is save and manage media,
calendors, messages, and web contents. each family menber could have ther own
portal page.

SharePoint Services (as opposed to SharePoint Portal) is a free
download from Microsoft and has many of the features of the Portal
server. I use it at home and it works well for most applications.
