How do I ftp big files?
Posted by okt8 on October 7th, 2005

This morning I intenden to download a filmfile (814 Mb) from my own computer
to the one belonging to my fiance using ftp-explorer. I hot the answer that
there wasn´t enough space on her computer although there are 8,5 Gb free on
C:\

I then tried ftp:ing a smaller file (585 Mb) and that was allright. It seems
to be a limit for ftp:ing round 700 Mb.

Is it realy so? Can I do something to ftp bigger files?

I don't know if the limitation you're experiencing is actually an FTP
problem, but a possible other alternative is to use a free file transfer
service called YouSendIt, which allows you to transfer files up to 1 GB.

Take a look at it at the following site:

Good Luck!
