I have had problems to install the IIS on my XP Pro SP2.
I upgraded XP Home to XP Pro SP2 to install IIS web server. Windows
Components wizard showed I have IIS (13.5 MB) installed. However, I
could not see the IIS manager icon on my Administrative Tools. Then, I
found the iis.msc file and created two shortcuts on the Desktop and
Administrative Tools. Opening both shortcuts showed a same error message:
Snap-in failed to initialize.
Name: <unknown>
CLSID:{A841B6C2-7577-11D0-BB1FÂ*-00A0C922E79C}
After typing regsvr32 %systemroot%\system32\inetsrv\inetmgr.dll on the
Run/cmd, the RegSvr32 did show me a "succeeded" mesaage. However, I still
can not open the IIS Manager icon from the Administrative Tools. (I have
checked that the IIS snap-in has been installed under IIS.)
Meanwhile, I have had problems installing the .NET Framework 1.1. (either
from XP Pro CD or Microsoft web site. Are these two installations related to
each other?
TIA,
Jeffrey
